Anastácio
Magumane is an Environmental and Tourism Sustainability Manager, MSc. In
International Cooperation Policy (Sustainable studies, Climate change &
Tourism) from Ritsumeikan Asia & Pacific University of Japan, with 15 years of experience in developing work related to the
environment and Sustainable Development, climate resilience, Natural Resource
Management, Natural Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation, Renewable
Energy, and Conflict Management. Also, he has professional skills in GIS, Data
Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Economics (EA),
Demography, Gender and population.
Since 2023, he has joined AKF-Mozambique as a Climate Change Specialist, where he carries out the following activities:
Reviewing existing internal and external knowledge, resources, and programs on climate resilience in Mozambique and the region.
Conducting activities to develop a clear picture of current programs and existing gaps in climate resilience programming in northern Mozambique, including a mapping of partners and programs.
Co-designing the National Strategy for Climate Resilience and supporting the revision of the National Program Framework accordingly.
Working closely with AKF (Moz) and Global Teams to lead the design process of new climate resilience methodologies and programs in northern Mozambique, aligning them with the Country Program Framework.
Analyzing technical information and trends to provide concise and technically sound advice for integrating climate resilience into existing programs.
Supporting the development and use of monitoring, evaluation, and learning tools to capture key information and lessons from climate resilience programming.
Collaborating closely with the Partnerships Manager to engage institutional donors and other stakeholders in mobilizing financial resources and building consortia with partners to implement programs on climate resilience and sustainable development.
Conducting capacity building, training, and mentoring of other AKF (Moz) staff on climate resilience.
Building and maintaining close working relationships and coordination with relevant departments, particularly Gender Focal Points (both within AKF (Moz) and globally), to ensure that climate resilience work also integrates gender equality across all outcomes.
