Activities
My Ph.D. thesis is focused on the quantification of the chemical composition of aerosols over coastal and open oceanic regions in the North Indian Ocean (NIO). The role of aerosol is significant over the NIO, as it is surrounded by the continents from three sides which are major sources of anthropogenic and natural aerosols. The NIO is vulnerable to aerosol supply throughout the year which can carry macro and micronutrients and the availability of these nutrients significantly depends on aerosol pH, their sources as well as transport pathways. It is thus, important to identify their sources as well as seasonality in their characteristics and composition. I am using various modeling tools like ISORROPIA-II, a thermodynamic model for estimation of aerosol pH and liquid water content, CAMS & MERRA-2, for the study of the temporal and spatial distribution of aerosol over the NIO.

Skills
My skill set includes basic working knowledge of several programming languages and tools. I am a beginner in R programming, which allows me to analyze data and handles different type of file extensions. I am also familiar with Ferret, a visualization and analysis tool commonly used for oceanographic and atmospheric research. In addition, I am also trying to get familiar with Python, a versatile programming language widely used for data analysis, automation, and web development. Furthermore, I am acquainted with CDO (Climate Data Operators), a toolset for handling and processing climate and weather data.
