Mr. SK Ariful
Hossain is working as a Senior Researcher at the Physical Oceanographic
Division (POD), CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, India. His
research expertise encompasses the tropical ocean and coastal environment, with
special emphasis on coastal geomorphology, island morphodynamics, nearshore
oceanographic processes, climate extreme events, coastal water quality, ocean
color remote sensing, carbon sequestration potential of the coastal blue carbon
ecosystems, particularly focusing on mangroves, mapping and monitoring of the
critical coastal habitat with special emphasis on mangroves, sea grasses, and
coral reef ecosystems, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
and nature-based solutions (NBS).
