Dr. Al-Said is the Program Manager Coastal and Marine Resources Programand Acting Director Science and Technology Division Environment and Life Sciences Research Centre; Kuwait Institute for Scientific
Research. He received his PhD in Marine Biogeochemistry in 2008 from School of
Ocean and Earth Sciences, University of Southampton, UK. PhD project: the
influence of viruses on trace metal speciation during the life cycle of marine phytoplankton
Emiliania huxleyi. Dr. Turki lead and participated in many oceanography
group research activities and projects. Supervision of the following chemical
analysis of samples (inorganic nutrients, DO, Turbidity,TSS, TIS, BOD, COD, pH,
Trace metals; Cu, Ni, Co, Zn and Fe). In charge of the QA/QC of all the data
generated from the chemical analysis. Supervised training programmes and
courses for university’s undergraduate students, KISR and regional university's
staff. He has over 45 publications and technical reports and presented his
research findings at international conferences.
