Volcanic risk
management specialist employed in the Volcanic risk unit of the Italian
National Civil Protection Department since 2007. Over the past 15 years, I’ve
been involved in all the volcanic and tsunami risk management activities
related to Stromboli volcano, including the drafting of the National civil
protection plan for the tsunamis generated by the volcano and the Volcanic
Alert Level System. Furthermore, since 2019 I’ve been working on the drafting
and update of the operational procedures of the two early-warning systems for
explosive paroxysms and tsunamis induced by the volcanic activity of Stromboli.

I’m currently part of
the internal working group for the definition and drafting of the National
Volcanic Early System Directive.

I’m also involved in
the EU Knowledge for Action in Prevention & Preparedness project “Neam
Collaboration fOr iMproved tsunaMi risk mitigation and management” (NEAM
Commitment).
