Environmental & Social Impact Assessment Projects:
- Conducted ESIA for land reclamation near Abu Minqar, New Valley Governorate, Daltex, May 2020.
- Participated in ESIA for Metro Line 2 Extension, Qalyubia, ACE Consulting Engineers.
- Contributed to ongoing EIA for Nitrogenous Fertilizers Complex in Sokhna, commissioned by NCIC.
- Engaged in various environmental assessments for significant projects.
Conservation and Management Projects:
- Provided support for the Strategic Environmental Assessment for the Southern Red Sea Tourism Sector, with a focus on coastal areas.
- Assisted in developing ecological baselines for regions such as Lake Mariut Valley and marine protected areas like Sallum.
- Involved in collision risk modeling for wind energy projects and critical habitat assessments.

Nahla Zakariya is an esteemed environmental specialist with a wealth of expertise in climate change adaptation, environmental science, and international reporting. Her background includes conducting comprehensive vulnerability assessments, crafting adaptation strategies, and offering strategic recommendations for climate resilience in alignment with UNFCCC guidelines.
Nahla's career journey began at Environics, where she immersed herself in environmental management studies, focusing on a range of critical areas such as Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Biodiversity Action Plans, and Life Cycle Assessments. Her Master's research delved into the impact of Microplastics on marine environments, particularly in the Gulf of Suez, emphasizing conservation efforts in coastal and marine ecosystems.
Transitioning to SBS Company, Nahla excelled as an Associate Consultant on environmental and sustainability projects, showcasing her expertise in environmental monitoring, sustainability initiatives, and collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams. She is dedicated to upholding SBS's commitment to excellence and staying abreast of advancements in environmental science and sustainability practices in the UAE, KSA, UK, and Egypt.
Currently, Nahla plays a pivotal role in the Greater Cairo Air Pollution Management and Climate Change Project, striving to reduce emissions and bolster resilience to air pollution in Greater Cairo. This project encompasses various components, including enhancing air quality management, operationalizing solid waste management plans, reducing vehicle emissions, promoting behavioral change, and ensuring effective project management and monitoring.
Nahla's multifaceted experience, coupled with her passion for environmental conservation, particularly in marine environments, positions her as a valuable asset in the realms of environmental management and sustainability.
