As a Research Assistant with the Department of Fisheries Studies at Solomon Islands National University, I find myself at the exciting intersection of traditional wisdom and modern science. Currently, our research teams are delving into the rich tapestry of indigenous fishing knowledge across the Solomon Islands, a project that not only fascinates but also teaches me the value of blending historical insights with contemporary research methods.

I have completed a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Studies, a program that offered a comprehensive exploration into the heart of this field. The program covered four strands: Fishing Technology, where I learned about the tools and techniques that have shaped fishing; Seafood Processing, which opened my eyes to the intricate journey from catch to consumer; Aquaculture and Fisheries Biology, which revealed the science and sustainability of breeding aquatic organisms; and Economics, which bridged the gap between marine life science and the economic landscapes governing fisheries.
