I am presently working on mapping coastal
processes and shoreline changes along Indian Coast where the work includes techniques
like rectification, shoreline extraction and analysis to find hotspot
areas using DSAS extension provided by Esri .Previously I have been a part
of the projects that involves working on techniques for estimating carbon
sequestration rates of Indian mangroves based on remote sensing & gis. This
work involved pre-processing of datasets, digital classification, vegetation
indices, mangrove species discrimination, Leaf Area Index (LAI) and carbon
sequestration rate . I have also been associated with the study of
changing river courses in south part of West Bengal for disaster mitigation. All
the studies were followed by a detailed field work at respective locations.
