Activities
My main research interest is the study of how environmental factors influence species’ distributions across multiple scales. Most of my work comprises either the characterisation of environmental patterns (temperature, shading, wave force, desiccation, etc.) from the global to the microhabitat level, or the determination of how important those factors are for the build-up of stress in organisms. I like multidisciplinary approaches, and my current work combines aspects from experimental ecology, behavior analysis, physiology, climatology, electronics, and modeling.

I am also the co-founder of the startup www.electricblue.eu. We create tools for environmental monitoring and biologging, like the EnvLogger rugged temperature logger.
I am a member of the Pole to Pole MBON network.
