I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO, Spain). My research focused on the question -What particular natural or anthropogenic drivers affects the distribution and life history of species? To address such question I have studied communities along several spatial-temporal scales in a number of marine habitats from the shelf to the deep-sea including abyssal plains, sedimentary slopes, and canyons. I am a biologist in Marine Sciences with a Biology degree on the University of the Basque Country (2006) and MSC in Biodiversity (2007, University of Barcelona) and MSC in Education (2008, University of Murcia). I obtained my Ph.D. in the Marine Sciences Institute of the Spanish National Research Council (ICM-CSIC, Barcelona, Spain) in December 2013. My pre-doctoral were focused on the life-history patterns of deep-sea species with contrasting energy availability. From 2014, I coordinated and conduct two national projects focused on integrating fisheries management measures on the main target species of Mediterranean. Actually, I am conducting several studies based on the impact of environmental variability and overfishing on Mediterranean nektobenthic communities. I have been involved in more than 10 national, European and international projects, resulting in several papers (20 publication publications in peer-reviewed journals), one IUCN book chapter, Congress talks and symposia posters. I participated in several oceanographic cruises adding up to 180 days on board. I have also collaborated with international groups, undertaking research short stays at the Japan Agency of Earth and Science (Japan, 2010), the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Brazil, 2011) and in the University of Hawaii (2011). I co-supervised 9 MSc students, lecture in two MSc course and participated in several outreach activities and projects. Additionally, I am a regular reviewer for research papers and provide technical assistance to private companies.
