My area of focus is in marine environment
and ecology where together with other scientists  conduct
; water quality assessment, analysis of saxitoxins i.e. PSP, ASP and CFP, sea
grass monitoring
and mangrove productivity assessment in the Kenyan coast and determining  sedimentation
rates using radio nuclides i.e. 210Pb and 210Po.



The main activities am involved in
include;



coordinating mangrove monitoring programs
and water quality assessments, data collection and analysis,
reporting, data base management, doing publications, mobilizing and supervising
local

communities
in participatory in both water quality and mangrove monitoring. Attending several
capacity building trainings which includes; RAF 7009: Supporting an integrated
approach for marine
pollution monitoring using nuclear analytical techniques; Using
nuclear

analytical
technique to support harmful algal bloom at the context of climate and
environmental change
(phase 1); Applying nuclear analytical techniques to support harmful
algal bloom
at the context of climate and environmental change (phase 2); Strengthening regional
capacities for marine risk assessment using nuclear and related techniques.
