Skills
1. Morphological modeling (Delft3d, unibest LT+, x-Beach)
During the master's program at Unesco IHE and under the internship program at Deltares, Netherlands I have specialized the morphological modeling tools such as DELFT3D Wave/Flow, X-Beach and UniBest CL+. Also, I am well versed in the MATLAB environment.
2. Oceanographic instrumentation at the Oceanography division NARA, I learned planning and conducting their field deployment and analyzing the resulting data collection of various oceanographic parameters such as CTD (seabird 9 plus, seabird 19 plus), Echo sounders (bathymetry survey), Sub-bottom profilers, Passive Acoustics Systems- Hydrophones (underwater Acoustics), Surface drifters and ARGO, Sea level gauges (radar/pressure) and Acoustic Doppler Current Meter (ADCP), etc.
3. Ocean data and information systems, I also served as a leading member of the project team, which worked on the nationally important project such as the Colombo Port City Development Project, offshore sand mining project (Negombo, Sri Lanka), and passive acoustic monitoring system on the oil exploring project at Mannar Sri Lanka. Moreover, I used to work as the responsible officer of the Ocean observation and early response center (24x7) at NARA. For the center, I have developed a numerical model for real-time DART and sea level data analysis, which is used for assessing tsunami generation.
