I am a research scientist in physical oceanography in National Marine Data and Information Service (NMDIS), affiliated with the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), China. I have been engaged in ocean data assimilation, ocean reanalysis and ocean forecasting for more than 15 years. Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, I am now undertaking the project of China Ocean ReAnalysis (CORA) to provide ocean reanalysis dataset focusing on the coastal waters of China and adjacent seas as well as the global ocean. I used to visit GFDL/NOAA in 2005 for eight months. My group has close collaboration now with GFDL and ESRL/NOAA on the research of oceanic and atmospheric data assimilation.
