I am currently an Oceanographer Emerita in the Department of Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the USA. While employed at WHOI I participated in 18 research cruises, initially as a benthic taxonomist and later as a CTD technician. Following my sea-going years, I led marine research data management projects at WHOI for 30 years. I was a data manager with the U.S. JGOFS Data Management Office (http://usjgofs.whoi.edu/jg/dir/jgofs/), an originating investigator for the NSF OCE and PLR funded Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO DMO, http://bco-dmo.org/), Lead PI at WHOI for the Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) project (http://www.rvdata.us), Lead PI at WHOI for the NSF EarthCube funded OceanLink and GeoLink projects (http://earthcube.org/group/geolink), and one of the US partners in the Ocean Data Interoperability Platform (ODIP) project (http://odip.org). In March 2015, I was elected co-chair of IODE.
