Activities
Time series with mathematical and ecological emphasis courses were undertook because long-term data (physical and biological variables) claim a temporal integrative analysis in eastern Pacific processes in particular and in global ocean in general. During the last years I gathered information in order to improve the quality control methods for the database system (1950-2005) of the Peruvian Marine Research Institute (IMARPE). At present I am working in the Research Center for Oceanographic and Biological Fishery Modelling at IMARPE performing analyses to test hypothesis about ENSO and regime shifts variability in the Humboldt Current Ecosystem off Peru. Monitoring and prediction El Niño off Peru are developed and a SST Index of Peru is proposed.
Sea regions of study
South Pacific Ocean
Skills
Physical and biological temporal variability El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) cycles and fisheries regime shifts in coastal ecosystems. Develop of useful tools for ecological time series analyses in pelagic environments.
