Basic researches are carried out by the MBS with a purpose of widening the knowledge about the dynamics of marine eco-systems. These researches contribute to an understanding of general rules of ecological processes and effects of the sea-pollution and represent a basis for more efficient protection of the quality of the sea and imply guidelines for the co-natural development of the Trst Bay and hinterland.
