Research Institute for Sustainability

The Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) began its research in 2010 as the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS). From the beginning of 2023, it will be part of the Helmholtz Association with a new name, integrated into the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. The goal of the institute remains to understand, promote and shape processes of social change towards sustainability.
