The National Office of Disaster Services – Coordinating Unit (NODS-CU) is the management agency mandated by the government of Antigua and Barbuda to deal with emergency/disaster situations that are outside the scope of the lead agency’s resources/capacity to manage and requires multi-agency resources and coordination. The department is run by a Director with several key technical positions established.
The office works with key agencies to ensure that personnel are trained and have a clear understanding of their roles and functions as outlined in the National Disaster Plan. It is the responsibility of the head of each agency to acquire and maintain the resources necessary to execute their roles and functions in a professional manner.
