Activities
- Department of Marine Park Malaysia (DMPM) was established in 2007. It mission is to manage, conserve, protect and guard the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Malaysia . There are 42 islands in five states in Peninsular Malaysia and Federal Territory of Labuan are managed by DMPM under Fisheries Act, 1985. Most of the MPA under DMPM jurisdiction are coral reefs ecosystem. The areas protected is two nautical mile from lowest water mark. There are five Divisions in order to fully functional of DMPM in managing MPA in Malaysia effectively and efficiently.
