Leveraging the Decade to address the UN Ocean Decade Challenge 9, this side event will showcase key CD tools and methodologies through an interactive marketplace format that will introduce diverse pathways to enhance coordination and collaboration with bodies that engage in capacity development. This side event showcases knowledge exchange and collaboration through an interactive marketplace to explore various IOC tools and methodologies, such as the matchmaking platform of the Decade Capacity Development Facility, its Collaborative Centres and Coordination Offices, as well as programs, projects, and actions; and global networks of training centers (e.g., IOC OceanTeacher Global Academy, IOC CD-Hub, Regional Training Research Centres, WMO Regional Training Centres, IMO Maritime Training Institutes, etc).
Event purpose:
- Introduce IOC CD tools and platforms
- OTGA
- IOC CD-Hub
- Ocean Expert
- Demonstration of the Decade Capacity Development Facility Matchmaking Platform
- Gain buy-in from the audience and provide examples of
- how these tools can be of benefit to stakeholder groups
- Obtain feedback on how to further improve
