Summary

The purpose of the Workshop is to: i) review the status of ocean data and information management technologies, techniques, procedures and/or practices, ii) demonstrate the advantages, cost/benefit and products that can be derived from national, regional and global practices in D&I management oceanographic data management facilities and how IOC/IODE can assist countries in the WESTPAC region in establishing such centres, and iii) identify collaborative opportunities for D&I management in the Western Pacific.
