Summary

The Department of Oceanography and the Center for Oceanographic Research in the eastern South Pacific of the University of Concepcion are pleased to announce the Austral Summer Institute XI (ASI XI) to be held at the Main Campus of the University of Concepcion. ASI XI will be held in January 2011. ASI XI will be devoted to topics on From Tsunamis to Water Pathogens: Understanding Ocean Hazards in the XXI Century. It includes a one week training on "Understanding tsunamis and preparing to cope with", with the following lecturers: Bernardo Aliaga, Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission UNESCO, France Sergio Barrientos, Universidad de Chile, Chile Marco Cisternas, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso Marcelo Lagos, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Chile Irina Rafliana, Indonesian Institute of Sciences, Indonesia
