An intersessional meeting of ICG/IOTWS Working Group 5(WG5) on a “System of Interoperable Advisory and Warning Centres” will be held at the Bureau of Meteorology, 1100 Hay Street, West Perth, Western Australia, 1-2 December 2009. The main purpose of the meeting will be to receive updates on progress made by the NTWCs and RTWPs, and to discuss outstanding issues in RTWP Implementation and the ongoing transition from the Interim Advisory Service (provided by JMA and PTWC) to the network of RTWPs. Coming soon after Exercise IOWave09 and before the 7th session of the ICG/IOTWS (to be held in April 2010), this meeting is timely and will provide WG5 members the opportunity to discuss critical issues and make recommendations for further action to the ICG. All members are therefore encouraged to attend.
