Fifty-sixth Session of the IOC Executive Council
Summary

The IOC Executive Council, consisting of 40 Member States, meets immediately before the opening of each ordinary session of the Assembly. At that session, it acts as the Steering Committee. One of these functions is to make proposals to the Assembly on the composition of the Nominations Committee and the Resolutions Committee and recommend supplementary items if any to the Assembly.

The session welcomes observers within the limits of the room's capacity, bearing in mind that priority is given to EC Member States.
 
At this session, the Council will deliberate in a closed meeting on the shortened list of six applicants for the post of the IOC Executive Secretary to be submitted to the Director-General of UNESCO in the afternoon of 20 June 2023.  Only one representative of each Member State of the Executive Council will be allowed in the meeting room. Prior notice of the name of each representative has to be given to the Executive Secretary by 19 May 2023
