The COVID-19 pandemic has already affected several of our activities, exercises and trainings, as well as the hosting of the regular ICG session, which has been definitely postponed for 2021. ICG/CARIBE EWS Officers have monitored this process, and have supported issuing guidelines for response and evacuation in times of Covid19. They have also suggested to cancel tsunami evacuation drills and promoted a survey aimed to measure the potential impact of the pandemic on tsunami observing systems and services. While Covid19 impacts regionally and globally, the ICG CARIBE EWS is adapting its working modes and keep as much as possible the pace of the system, and plan for the future. To report on the status of the system and next steps, the Officers of the ICG/CARIBE EWS have decided to host an Online ICG/CARIBE EWS Information Session on Thursday 4th June, from 2 to 3 PM UTC. A preliminary list of items that will be reported at this online session are: 1.CaribeWave2020 & CaribeWave2021 2.Tsunami Ready & World Tsunami Awareness Day 2020 (5th November) 3.UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 4.Results of the Tsunami Hazard Assessment of Lesser Antilles 5.Planned trainings and workshops: Sea Level MAACCH, GNSS, DEM 6.CARIBE EWS Performance Indicators - baseline survey 2020 7.Hosting of ICG/CARIBE EWS XV in 2021 The meeting will be hosted by the Secretariat using GoToMeeting Webinar, which allows up to 250 simultaneous participants.
