Summary

IOC UNESCO through the ICG/IOTWS has secured funding from the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) for a project entitled: “Enhancing Tsunami Risk Assessment and Management, Strengthening Policy Support and Developing Guidelines for Tsunami Exercises in Indian Ocean Countries”. One activity of the project is to conduct a regional training workshop on \"Coastal Hazard Assessment: Applications in Risk Assessment, Management and Mitigation\" based on the IOC Guidelines on “Tsunami Risk Assessment and Mitigation for the Indian Ocean\", which are being revised and updated as part of the project.
