The Eighth Session of the ICG/CARIBE EWS in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, established the Tsunami Recognition Task Team under the aegis of Working Group IV (Preparedness, Readiness and Resilience). The second meeting will be convened under the guidance of the Task Team Leader with the objective of advancing the development of the strategy or business proposal for a Performance Based Recognition Programme as required by the ICG, including the parameters, possible metrics or performance measures, the feasibility, and potential sources of funding for the programme. The meeting is being facilitated through financial and logistical support from UNESCO/IOC as well as in-kind contributions from the Caribbean Tsunami Information Center (CTIC), the Puerto Rico Seismic Network (PRSN) and the Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program (CTWP).
