Through Resolution XXIV-14 the IOC Assembly at its 24th Session decided on the establishment of a Working Group on Tsunamis and Other Hazards Related to Sea-Level Warning and Mitigation Systems (TOWS-WG), tasked primarily to advise the IOC Governing Bodies on co-ordinated development and implementation activities on warning and mitigation systems for tsunamis and other hazards related to sea level of common priority to all Intergovernmental Coordination Group on Tsunami Warning and Mitigation Systems (ICG/TWSs). The Local Organizing Committee will be arranging a study tour to the research station in Otsuchi Town on 10 March 2015 (optional) from 08:00-18:30. There is no cost for participating in the tour and transportation and lunch will be provided by the host. Please confirm your participation not later than 20 February 2015.
